Giles Rhodenhiser

Mr. Rhodenhiser is an entrepreneurial business, litigation, and real estate and estate planning attorney, offering his clients a comprehensive array of legal services to meet their unique needs.

Mr. Rhodenhiser has significant intellectual property litigation expertise, including in patent, trade secret, and copyright matters, in addition to experience representing companies, their leaders, and owners in complex business disputes. This experience equips Mr. Rhodenhiser with the knowledge and skill to find creative resolutions to complex problems for his clients, and the judgment to know where deals are possible and where they are not.

Mr. Rhodenhiser is licensed to practice in all state courts in Michigan and North Carolina, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. In addition, he holds a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US) credential, which is conferred by the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), the principal credentialing body for the U.S. private sector in the growing area of data privacy and information security law.

Mr. Rhodenhiser began practicing law in Oakland County in 2016 with the law firm of Young & Associates, where his practice primarily involved representing technology companies in multimillion dollar intellectual property disputes, as well as a major accounting firm in litigation matters. He left the firm in 2018 to found his own firm, Rhodenhiser Law, and focus more on serving his own clients, and meeting their unique needs.

Prior to joining Young & Associates, Mr. Rhodenhiser clerked for the Honorable R. Christopher Dillon at the North Carolina Court of Appeals for a two-year term. During his clerkship at the North Carolina Court of Appeals Mr. Rhodenhiser was responsible for drafting a large number of judicial opinions, averaging one per week, which is a higher volume than is common for judicial law clerks at comparable courts of appeal.

Mr. Rhodenhiser graduated near the top of his class at the University of North Carolina School of Law in 2014. He was awarded the Harry Bane Award for Academic Excellence by the faculty of the law school upon his graduation, an honor conferred on only one student in each graduating class for outstanding writing in the general area of private law.

Mr. Rhodenhiser is a cum laude graduate of Western Washington University, where he majored in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics. As an undergraduate, he was recognized repeatedly for his writing and analytic ability, presenting papers and offering commentary at a number of academic conferences, including at the University of North Carolina, where he then decided to pursue his legal education.
