We are Board Certified in Labor & Employment law. Board Certified lawyers are the only attorneys allowed to publicly represent themselves as specialists in a select area of the law. This designation is reserved for attorneys with the highest, public commitment to excellence in their area of law. According to the TBLS, it means we have "substantial, relevant experience" in employment law, as well as "demonstrated, and tested, special competence" in the area. There are more than 70,000 attorneys licensed to practice in Texas. Less than 10% are Board Certified.

We don't use experience as a crutch, and we never stop learning. That's why we're members of the College of the State Bar of Texas. The College recognizes lawyers who maintain and enhance their professional skills, and the quality of their service to the public, by significant voluntary participation in legal education. That means we go above-and-beyond the minimum attorney education requirements - always striving to improve and to better assist our clients.

Our Attorneys

Ashley Tremain

I represent individuals in all types of employment disputes, including informal negotiations, trial in the state and federal courts, arbitrations, appeals, and administrative proceedings before the TWC, EEOC, and NLRB. Since the day I was licensed to practice law, I have practiced exclusively in the area of employment law, working on behalf of individual employees and entrepreneurs. I especially enjoy helping employees with pregnancy and medical leave disputes, those with disputes over their non-compete, commission, or other employment contracts, and individuals who have been denied disability accommodations. I would be proud to help you achieve your workplace goals, and "right the ship" if you've been sent off-course.

Carmen Artaza

I am passionate about employment law, and am committed to providing my clients with effective representation based on their individual needs. I recognize that workplace disputes and the prospect of litigation may be extremely stressful, overwhelming, and intimidating. So I place a special emphasis on being empathetic to each client’s particular situation and carefully guiding each client through the legal process.
I have many years of experience representing employees in various areas of employment law, and I have practiced employment law exclusively since graduating law school in 2006. I have appeared before state and federal courts throughout the State of Texas and represented clients in numerous trials and arbitrations. I'd love to help you as well.

Christine Hopkins

Whether you are a janitor or a CEO, a nurse or a trucker, your job is important to you and to your family. I represent individuals at the most difficult time in their careers. I fight insurance companies to obtain short-term and long-term disability benefits for employees struggling with serious injuries and illnesses. I advocate for reasonable accommodations to ensure that disabled veterans and employees get a fair chance to succeed in the workplace. I stand up to employers who refuse to pay overtime and equal wages for equal work. And I litigate against corporations, both large and small, when termination decisions are made for illegal reasons.

I am here to listen to you, whether you are concerned about your employer’s failure to pay you hard-earned commissions, your manager’s preference for younger workers over older workers, discrimination or harassment based on race or religion, unexpected unfair reactions to your pregnancy or cancer diagnosis, or retaliation directed at you because you refused to violate the law or blew the whistle. I will lay out your legal options clearly and honestly, and use my years of experience to help you navigate through difficult times.
